Introduction To Culinary Arts
Grade Level: 9,10
Culinary Arts begins with the fundamentals and principles of the art of cooking and the science of baking and includes management and production skills and techniques. Students can pursue a national sanitation certification, a Texas culinary specialist certification, or any other appropriate industry certification. This course may be offered as a laboratory-based or internship course. Students are encouraged to participate in extended learning experiences such as career and technical student organizations and other leadership or extracurricular organizations.

Required Prerequisite: Introduction to Culinary Arts
Advanced Culinary Arts will extend content and enhance skills introduced in Culinary Arts by indepth instruction of industry-driven standards in order to prepare students for success in higher education, certifications, and/or immediate employment.
Practicum In Culinary Arts
Grade Level: 11-12: 2 credits
Required Prerequisite: Culinary Arts
The Practicum in Culinary Arts course is designed to give students practical application of previously studied knowledge and skills. Practicum experiences can occur in a variety of locations appropriate to the nature and level of experience
