Bowie ISD online registration for returning students opens today! You should have received an email with information about the Ascender Parent Portal with your username. If you do not remember your password, click forgot my password and reset it. On the bowieisd.net website, you can click on families in the top right-hand corner, and the link for the Ascender Parent Portal will be available. Our campus registrars will gladly help you starting July 15th if you need assistance. Please call your child's respective school. We are excited to be starting the 24-25 school year.

BISD needs additional bus drivers for the 24-25 school year. The BISD board just approved a pay increase for our bus route drivers. If you have any questions, you can call Cory Hickey at 940-689-2949.

As you prepare for the 24-25 school year, please see the school supply list for each grade level, PreK-8th grade. If your child will attend high school, they will receive specific lists at Meet the Teacher, which will be on Monday, August 5th. Also, all BISD students who need assistance with supplies and services are encouraged to attend the Back to School Fair on July 20, 2024.

Dear parents and families, Your child took the State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness (STAAR®) earlier this spring, and soon you will receive your child’s results. The state assessment is one of many ways to measure student learning. Teachers will use STAAR results along with other information to support your child’s learning in the new school year. Beginning June 7 for STAAR end-of-course assessments and June 14 for STAAR grades 3–8 assessments, you can access your child’s STAAR results. You will access your child’s results through the Ascender Parent Portal. Your child’s STAAR results will include detailed information for each test question, identifying your child’s strengths and areas where your child may need additional support. BISD would like to share the link for the shirt fundraiser for the Bailey McGlothlin Memorial T-Shirt! The proceeds will be donated back to the family. Make sure to write LOCAL PICKUP at checkout. Lindsey Childs and Lexi Neinas (Hutson) will be set up at the High School parking lot when the shirts are finished for pick-up. Any student or child 18 years or younger is welcome at Bowie High School for a free breakfast or lunch June 3-13 (Monday through Thursday).

Summer School for Credit Recovery and students that did not meet expectations on STAAR/EOC start over the next weeks. Please see the pic below for specific grade levels, times, and dates. Your campus should contact you if you need to attend and give you additional details.

Mark your calendars! The Bowie ISD Back to School Fair is set for Saturday, July 20, 2024. If you are interested in making a donation, volunteering, or setting up a booth, please let Tabatha Jones at tabatha.jones@bowieisd.net know.

Bowie ISD has many camps for which you can sign your children up this summer. We have sports camps, art camps, and reading programs at the Public Library. Some camps start on Tuesday, May 28th, so check them out.

This morning, the Class of 2024 had graduation practice and was treated to a fantastic breakfast by Freedom Life Church. First United Methodist Church also provided cookies for all the seniors. Our community is amazing at supporting our district and answering the call when we need help. #bowiebuilt #community

Bowie High School's Graduation is Friday, May 24th, at 8:00 PM in Jackrabbit Stadium. The Bowie Basketball Boys are holding a fundraiser before graduation and at the end to help quench your thirst and give you a treat while you enjoy celebrating our seniors.

The top 10 graduating seniors from Bowie High School were recognized at the BISD School Meeting last night. Each student introduced themselves and shared their plans for after high school. Bowie ISD would like to invite all Emergent Bilinguals (ESL families) to the Bowie Public Library to see its services. We will take a tour, learn about the summer reading program, and get a library card if you want one. You will also learn how the library can help provide a literacy-rich home for your child and improve their literacy skills. Join us at the Bowie Public Library on May 9, 2024, at 5:30 PM.
