BISD welcomes all new and returning substitutes for the 23-24 school year. If you desire to become a substitute in our district, please apply and attend one of our 2 New Substitute Trainings.
If you are a returning substitute, you will receive an email with a video training to watch and a form to complete. Returning substitutes do not need to come to the face-to-face training as you did last year.
We appreciate and can not thank our returning substitutes enough and look forward to adding additional substitutes this year. #bowiebuilt
Today is the day BISD online registration opens! You should have received an email with information about Ascender Parent Portal with you your username. If you do not remember your password, click forgot my password and reset it. On our new bowieisd.net website, you can click on families in the top right-hand corner, and the link for Ascender Parent Portal will be available. Our campus registers will gladly help you starting July 17th if you need assistance. Please call your child's respective school. We are excited to be starting the 23-24 school year.
Bowie ISD is looking for multiple bus drivers. BISD will help you obtain your CDL with training and help with testing. We also have competitive salaries, work four days a week, and have a great staff! Join our transportation department!

BISD invites all students and families to our 3rd Annual Back to School Fair. This event provides, supplies, information, online registration help, community organizations, and fun for the kids!
Registering for the 23-24 school year is approaching soon. There will be more information closer to July 14th on the steps to completing the online process. Stay tuned!

Updated Fridge Notes -- The 5th Grade Field Trip is on May 17th, not May 15th as previously noted.
Ag Day 2023 is all about strawberries and how beneficial they are. Students learned facts about strawberries and how to include them into their diet. Students were also taught how strawberries grow and how easy it is to grow them yourselves! It’s all about how agriculture impacts our world.
It's School Librarian Appreciation Day. Big THANK YOUs to Mrs. Clement who absolutely loves our students!! She works collaboratively with teachers to make sure that BIS students know the way to use technology so classroom teachers can teach content with cool new programs! We love you Mrs. Clement!!
BIS is very proud to announce our Teacher of the Year and our Unsung Hero of the Year recipients.
Addie Enlow was selected by our teachers as our Teacher of the Year. Addie is dedicated to making BIS the best it can be! She teaches Art and GT each day and acts as a campus mentor for new teachers. She often takes on different responsibilities such as taking our students to perform at Chicken and Bread Days and The Bowie Christmas Tree Lighting. Addie is known for her always-present smile, bubbly personality, and "yes Queen" which she says to all she passes.
Jeannine Yowell was selected by the BIS staff as our Unsung Hero of the Year. We simply could not provide our students with the best education possible without our paraprofessionals and Jeannine is a stellar example of how vital they are to BIS. Jeannine teaches our Music classes and pushes into third, fourth, and fifth grade classrooms to help our students who need a little extra help. When she has a few extra minutes she can be found helping shelve books in the library or helping teachers in the classrooms. As an extra bonus she is teaching our staff how to Zumba!!
