It was a big night at the BISD school board meeting. In honor of CTE appreciation month, we had guests from BJH and BHS and many different projects were shared. The presentation began with Mrs. Walker, Assistant Superintendent, sharing the career and technology opportunities and how these programs give students opportunities and experiences.
From BJH we had Mrs. Neinas and her students share their projects that they are presenting at a state competition. These students were so impressive with their poise while presenting, depth of their projects, and their dedication. We also had flower vases prepared for the school board by students as an introduction to floral design classes.
Also joining us was Ms. Halfmann from BHS sharing art projects completed by her students. She shared information about floral design certifications and competitions. It is very impressive the products and work our students are completing in order to pass certifications and compete with this knowledge. The BHS culinary classes prepared the meal for the board and it was very tasty and beautifully displayed.
As a special treat, Bowie FFA BHS members collected treats and BJH delivered them to Central Admin as a gift of appreciation for BISD supporting them. What a wonderful gesture from a very strong Bowie FFA chapter.
Lastly, the board approved the hire of Tyler Price as BISD Athletic Director and Head Football Coach.
