📢 BISD School Board Adopts 2025-2026 Instructional Calendar! 📢 After gathering input from our Calendar Committee, surveying parents and staff, and working closely with administration and school board members, the BISD Board of Trustees has officially adopted the 2025-2026 Instructional Calendar! ✅ 🔹 What’s Staying the Same?
 ✔️ Monday-Thursday school week remains for consistency
 ✔️ Minimal changes to keep a familiar routine 🔹 Key Adjustments: 
📅 Additional 2,100 minutes are required by the state due to the inability to secure a professional development waiver for the 25-26 school year
 🍂 Students will attend Monday & Tuesday before Thanksgiving per the request of the survey🏈 Traditional Homecoming festivities will occur with a ½ day of school on September 19th 
🇺🇸 Majority of stakeholders preferred school on Monday holidays to maintain Friday flexibility

This is the BJH Late Arrival Schedule.

Bowie ISD will begin at 10:00 am on Wednesday, February 19th.  Although most roads are clear, there are some slick “black ice” spots throughout the entire district.  Parking lots and sidewalks have some slick spots as well.  This delay will allow buses, staff, and students to have ample time to cautiously arrive at school.  Stay warm!

When we started the 2024-25 school year, we mentioned that supplies might need to be restocked throughout the year. That time has come. If you read the list carefully, you may notice that Kleenex is the supply most needed. If you would like to help, we ask that you add a few school supplies to your shopping list and send them to the front office. Thanks in advance for considering this request!

Our schools and community have been hit hard, and many are under the weather—whether it’s a virus, the flu, or just a seasonal bug. Let’s work together to keep our community strong! 💪 ✅ Wash hands frequently – Good hand hygiene is a game-changer! 🧼 ✅ Cover coughs & sneezes – Elbow bumps over handshakes! 💪 ✅ Stay home when sick – Rest up & recover while keeping others safe. 😴 We’ve also taken extra steps daily to keep our campuses clean and safe! 🏫✨ 🔹 Daily Clorox 360 system spraying in every building 🚿 🔹 Buses sanitized daily for safer transportation 🚌 🔹 HVAC ionizers in place to reduce airborne germs 🌬️ Bowie ISD has been working hard to sanitize our schools and buses daily. Bowie ISD Closure Announcement: Thursday, January 9, 2025 After consulting with surrounding districts and participating in the latest briefing from the National Weather Service, Bowie ISD will be closed on Thursday, January 9, 2025. The forecasted winter precipitation is expected to impact travel across the district. Due to the potential risks and uncertainties regarding road conditions, the district has made the decision to close in the interest of student and staff safety. #Bowiebuilt #Staywarm #safety

As below-freezing temperatures and precipitation are forecasted, Bowie ISD wants to remind families to stay updated on any weather-related announcements. With winter weather in the forecast, Bowie ISD administrators are already closely monitoring conditions, communicating with surrounding districts, and listening to National Weather Service updates to make the best decision possible regarding school schedules. In the event of delays, cancellations, or closures, Bowie ISD will use the district's mass communication system, social media, and local media outlets to communicate. It is important that your email and phone numbers are up to date in the Ascender system. If you have had a change in your email or phone number from what is listed in Ascender, please contact the front office of your child's school to get that information updated. "When will you know?" We understand the importance of providing advance notice to allow families to make alternate arrangements. When changes to the school schedule are necessary, we strive to notify staff and families as quickly as possible through social media and our mass communication system.
