🚍✨ It's National School Bus Safety Week! (Oct 21-25) ✨🚍
The U.S. Department of Transportation’s NHTSA reminds all drivers to slow down and stay alert around school buses. Remember, passing a school bus is illegal and can be deadly for kids.
🛑 When you see flashing red lights and a stop arm extended, you MUST come to a complete stop. This isn’t just a suggestion; it’s the law!
🔶 Yellow lights mean the bus is getting ready to stop. Slow down and prepare to stop your vehicle. You can only move once the red lights are off and the bus is moving again.
Stay aware of the “Danger Zone”—the area around the bus where children are most at risk, including:
-10 feet in front of the bus
-10 feet on either side of the bus
-Behind the bus
Let’s work together to keep our children safe! For more info on school bus safety, visit: NHTSA School Bus Safety - https://www.nhtsa.gov/road-safety/school-bus-safety#the-topic-bus-stop-safety.

Texas law now requires school districts to distribute information to parents and guardians about the safe storage of firearms. The attached information will help you learn about options for and how to talk to your child and others about the safe storage of firearms.
Safe gun storage protects our kids, prevents accidents, and keeps our guns out of the hands of criminals. Learn how to safely store firearms by using our Safe Gun Storage checklist and these other resources to talk about gun storage.
