The U.S. Department of Transportation’s NHTSA reminds all drivers to slow down and stay alert around school buses. Remember, passing a school bus is illegal and can be deadly for kids.
🛑 When you see flashing red lights and a stop arm extended, you MUST come to a complete stop. This isn’t just a suggestion; it’s the law!
🔶 Yellow lights mean the bus is getting ready to stop. Slow down and prepare to stop your vehicle. You can only move once the red lights are off and the bus is moving again.
Stay aware of the “Danger Zone”—the area around the bus where children are most at risk, including:
-10 feet in front of the bus
-10 feet on either side of the bus
-Behind the bus

Bowie Junior High 8th graders attended a Career Fair provided by Region 9 and the Texas Workforce Solutions. Students were introduced to career paths and were able to ask businesses about their particular job, training, and careers. #bowiebuilt
National Night is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make them safer and more caring places to live. The event is tonight at the Montague County Courthouse Square, starting at 6:00 PM.
